Juanita Rios

Juanita "Janie" Rios was born on May 21, 1944 and grew up in Moody, Texas. She married Guadalupe Rios on November 23, 1963. She had 5 children, Rita Rucker of La Porte, IN, Fabian Rios of Lubbock, Gloria Sleutel of Flower Mound, Steve Rios of Homen, Wisconsin, and Nicholas James who passed away. She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Wilson. Janie was a housewife for many years and then became a teacher's aide for Wilson ISD and later Slaton ISD. She served on the Wilson ISD school board. Janie later drove a school bus for Slaton ISD and won an award for Citizen of the Year in Wilson, Texas. She also worked elections in Wilson for many years. Janie also had 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She died peacefully in her sleep on January 7, 2022 at the age of 77.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Green Memorial Cemetery in Wilson, Texas
