Karey Anne Bohner

Karey Anne “Nawny” Bohner, 61 and a life-long resident of Lubbock, passed away on Tuesday morning, October 24, 2023.  Karey was born on April 5, 1962, in Lubbock, Texas to the late Calvin Kelly and Bobbie (Adams) Kelly.

She received her education in the Lubbock school system and graduated from Coronado High School.

Karey met Jeff Bohner and they were united in marriage on June 24, 1983, in Lubbock, and out of this union were born two children, Kelli and Bryson.  Mr. Bohner preceded her in death on July 20, 1997.

Karey worked hard all her life, providing for her family.  Her life centered mainly around her family, especially her children and spoiling her two granddaughters rotten.  She loved to cook with her son Bryson, and shop with her daughter and granddaughters.  In addition to watching TV, she and the family loved to decorate and plan for the holiday season, to make it special for everyone.  Karey was a loving mother and “Nawny” to her spoiled granddaughters, Lilli and Emma.

Those left to cherish and honor her memory include her daughter, Kelli Hunter and her husband Jace of Lubbock; one son, Bryson Bohner of Lubbock; one brother, Kyle Kelly of Lubbock; one sister, Kathy Schoenrock of Lubbock; two granddaughters, Lilli June Hunter and Emma Anne Hunter of Lubbock.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
