Kaylee Rivera

Kaylee Dawn Rivera, “Kaylee Bear,” 22 of Lubbock, TX passed away peacefully to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, February 4th, 2023. She was born on Wednesday, July 12th, 2000 in Lubbock TX to Valeri Janes & Jacob Rivera. She graduated Monterey High School in 2018. Kaylee sadly suffered through several health issues throughout her short years. However, even with those issues, Kaylee was a beacon of love and strength that will not ever be forgotten. She always made anyone who met her smile, and their day became a little brighter just because of that lovely smile. Whether she was laughing hysterically at you or laughing for no reason at all or just soul searching you with those beautiful greenish blue eyes, she always left an impression on anyone that she encountered. Kaylee was loved by so many friends and family. She enjoyed hanging out with her family, listening to music, watching movies, taking trips, star gazing from her bed, or just being loved on by her loved ones.

She is survived by her parents Valeri & Jerry Janes. Her sisters Kinsey, Kadence, Ciara, Angie, Kirsten, and Catherine; her brothers, Jaelyn, Zach, and Albert; her grandparents, Gary & Kathy Francis of Levelland, TX, and Nancy Dyer of Fort Worth, TX; her uncles, Bill Francis, Martin Francis, Steve Francis, Monte Flake, and Brent Arnold; her aunt, Megan Martinez; and her nephew, Ezra Janes. She was preceded in death by her father Jacob Rivera; and her grandmothers, Carol Horn and Sharon Kosechequetah.

Visitation for Kaylee will begin at 4 PM Wednesday, February 15th, 2023, in the Combest Memorial Chapel. The family will be receiving friends from 4 PM- 6 PM.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, February 16th, 2023, in the Combest Memorial Chapel. Elizabeth Abraham, with Hospice of Lubbock, will be officiating the service.
