Kenneth D. Rhoades of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the age of 77. He was born August 7, 1937 in Pettit, Texas to Cecil and Vera (McClenden) Rhoades. He moved from Pettit to Lubbock in 1952, he attended Lubbock High School. Kenneth was a dispatcher for South Plains Electric until his retirement in 1999. He married Martha Setliff on February 24, 1967. He was a member of Quaker Avenue Church of Christ; he loved gospel singing and attended many gospel concerts across the country.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Martha; two daughters, Kandice Clifft and husband Grover of Lubbock and Kayla Fambrough and husband Larry of Angleton; one son, Kenny Rhoades and wife Darcy of Escondido, California; five grandchildren, Emily Willingham, Jeb, Cole and Britt Fambrough, and Kassia Rhoades.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at Combest Family Funeral Homes. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Quaker Avenue Church of Christ with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
