Leonardo Martinez

Leonardo Martinez of Levelland passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013 at the age of 75.  He was born August 21, 1938 in Elgin, Texas. He loved working with his hands and enjoyed his job as a construction worker. Leonardo was a member at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in the Carlisle community. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Rose Thomas of Littlefield, Judy Davis of Anton, and Monique Jones and Mark of Lubbock; sons, Louis Martinez and Janice of Wolfforth, Steve and Leon, Jr. both of Lubbock, Johnny Martinez of Ft. Worth, and Tony Martinez and Isabel of Georgetown; brother, Reyes Martinez of Anton; sister, Elidia Navarez of Dripping Springs; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Leonardo was preceded in death by four brothers, Manuel, Eloy, and Jesus Salazar and Pete Ybanez; one sister, Feliciana Barron; and one grandson, Mario Martinez.

Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Anton with interment to follow at the Anton Cemetery.
