Leonor Garcia, 95, of Idalou went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 3, 2014. She was born to Calestro and Dolores Segovia on June 28, 1918 in San Luis, Potosi, Mexico. Leonor married Domingo Garcia, Sr. on January 4, 1938. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed. She was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church in Idalou and was a member of the Guadalupanas.
Those left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Isabel Benavidez of Idalou, Dolores Luna of New Deal, Refugia (Cookie) Hernandez and Sara Garcia both of Lubbock; six sons, Albert Garcia of Muleshoe, Joe Garcia of Idalou, Frank Garcia of Abernathy, Martin Garcia of Lubbock, Domingo Garcia, Jr. and Manuel Garcia both of Idalou; 41 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; 3 sons, Raul, Carlos and John Garcia; 1 grandson, Richard Garcia, Sr.
Visitation will be 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Idalou and 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at St. Philip Catholic Church with the rosary at 7:15 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. Philip Catholic Church with interment to follow at Idalou Cemetery.
