It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Leslie “Buster” Lawson, born on February 25, 1953, in Lubbock, Texas. Buster departed this world peacefully on January 26, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Donna Lawson, with whom he shared a beautiful life and a family that spanned generations.
Buster will be dearly missed by his children: Crystal Pellam, MeLynda Garcia, Valerie Mizerak, and Lona Allred, in addition to his late daughter, Vanessa Estelle. His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Hunter Garcia, Brooke Pellam, Briley Pellam, Bryson Pellam, Kaleb Garcia, Echo and Eero Mizerak, Bryan Wesley, and BreAnna Settler. Buster’s devotion to his family and boundless love for his grandchildren were hallmarks of his character that touched the hearts of all who knew him. His creativity extended beyond the workplace, as he found joy in meticulously crafting model trains, indulging in a hobby he both loved and excelled at. He and his wife were active members of The Worship Center in Lubbock, where they fostered community and connection.
Buster is also survived by his loving sisters: Sue Buffa of Lubbock, Tx, Kathy and Wally Klatt of Hale Center, TX, and Annette Walker of Missoula, Montana. His brothers Greg Haussler of Capitan, NM, and Pat Haussler and his wife Nancy of Houston, TX, will carry on his memory with profound gratitude and love.
