Leta Hawkins

Leta Mae (Moss) Hawkins, 82, of Hart, TX passed away from an extended illness on September 20, 2014 in Lubbock, TX. She was born on a farmstead north of Olton, TX on September 14, 1932 to her parents, Roy E. and Ola G. Moss.

Her children and everyone she touched loved her dearly. She was a talented artist, loved flowers, fishing in the mountains, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Thelma Davis, Margaret Gooch, Dick Moss, Dana Lou Fenno, Jessie Scott, Jerrell Moss and Audrey Cobb.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 62 years, Robert L. Hawkins; four children; David Hawkins and wife Cynthia of Lubbock, TX, Theron Hawkins and wife Dottie of Bakersfield, CA, Lesa Dwyer and husband Glen of Lubbock, TX and Phillip Hawkins and wife Jill of Rockwall, TX; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; a brother, Roy Olan Moss and wife Jeanette of Decatur, TX and a sister Helen Gamache of Tulsa, OK; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 10:00 am at the First United Methodist Church in Hart, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Hart, TX.
