Lilia Rojas, 84, of Lubbock, and wife of Carlos Rojas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 25, 2023. She was born on September 22, 1939, in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas, to the late Rafael and Isabell (Perez) Carrillo.
She attended Jefferson High School in El Paso, graduating with the senior class of 1959.
She met the love of her life, Carlos Rojas, and they were united in marriage on September 16, 1962, in El Paso.
Lilia worked as a retail clerk for the Lerner Clothing Store in El Paso for approximately 4 years, before retiring in 1962. She loved to watch western movies, cook and bake. She was an exceptional housewife, loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Lilia was a faithful member of Christ the King Cathedral Catholic Church.
Those left to cherish and honor Lilia’s memory include her husband, Carlos; one son, Carl Rojas and wife Stephanie of Manhattan, New York; two daughters: Cindi Faz and husband Jamie of Lubbock and Carmen Rojas-Hazelbaker of Louisville, Kentucky; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one on the way. Lilia was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Conrad Rojas; four brothers: Rafael, Chapo, Adolfo and Sergio; five sisters: Virginia, Julie, Beatrice, Lillia and Carmen.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 30, 2023, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Carlos Rojas, loving husband of Lilia, will moderate the memorial service. Cremation arrangements and memorial services are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Lilia’s memory be directed towards Christ the King Cathedral Catholic School, 4011 54th Street, Lubbock, TX 79413.
