Linda Crump of Lubbock passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at the age of 74. She was born September 8, 1939 in Galveston, Texas to Edward and Velma Ruth (Farris) Reesby. She was a daughter of a military family which traveled extensively. Linda graduated from Paschal High School in Ft. Worth. She married James Thomas Crump on April 20, 1958 in Oklahoma. They were married for 47 years until his death June 30, 2005. Linda worked for an accounting firm as a secretary. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and enjoyed taking care of everything for her loving family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, James Thomas Crump, Jr. and wife, Sherri of Lubbock; daughter, Kerri Jones of Arlington; one brother, Gary Ferrick and wife, Charlotte of Ft. Worth; three sisters, Velma Johnson of Santa Fe, Nikki Mahaffey and husband, Garry of Jacksboro, and Rikki Stewart and husband, Jimmy of Ft. Worth; four grandchildren, Nick Crump and wife Kristin, Nicole Crump, Cason Jones, and Kenzie Jones; and two great-grandchildren, Seth Crump and Addison Crump.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Kelsey Jones; and a niece, Stacey Stewart.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 with the family receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Combest Family Funeral Homes. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Colleyville, Texas.
