Linda Beth Sears of Lubbock went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the age of 70. She was born January 20, 1955, in Lawton, Oklahoma to the late Charles and Elwanda Prather. Linda grew up in Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma Christian College before transferring to Southwestern Oklahoma State University earning her Associate’s Degree in Accounting. On August 2, 1975, she married Owen Sears in Elk City, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Lubbock in 1983.
Linda was a stay-at-home mom for many years. She enjoyed being involved in Kirk and Alison’s events, as well as volunteering in many activities. More than anything, Linda valued her faith. She loved reading her bible and spending time in God’s Word. She also enjoyed valuable time with her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Owen; children, Kirk Sears and wife, Kheli, and Alison McGuire and husband, Russell, all of Lubbock; siblings, Judy Potter and husband James, Kathy Prather, and Richard Prather and wife Angie; and seven grandchildren whom she adored!
Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 am Friday, January 31, 2025, at South Plains Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Linda’s name can be made to the Zambia Mission Fund, Box 3393, Abilene, Texas 79604-3393, https://zambiamission.org/donate-help/donate.html or Children’s Home of Lubbock, P.O. Box 2824, Lubbock, TX 79408, https://childshome.org/contact-us/?form=FUNXSLBKSGC
