Lynn Searcy Dockery

Lynn Searcy Buford Collier Dockery passed away on March 2, 2025. 

She was born on June 17, 1939 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She graduated from the University of Texas in 1962 and received a masters degree from the University of Eastern Oklahoma in 1990. She dedicated her life to teaching communications and English to high school and college students and later in life, she taught English as a second language in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She served as the ambassador of Fort Smith, Arkansas, the home of General Darby from World War II, to Cisterna, Italy, the sister city relationship established after World War II. She enjoyed history, politics, playing bridge and reading. She was a member of the DAR and PEO. 

Lynn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Courtney and Doug Jordan of Lubbock, son Dr. Christopher Collier of Montana, and her three grandsons: Taylor Mason of Lubbock, Davis Mason of Lubbock and Ryan Jordan of West Point, New York.
