Madeline Velma Fremont

March 8, 1954 — February 19, 2025

Lubbock

Madeline Velma Fremont, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, was born on March 8, 1954, to Norman and LaRue Paul Fremont in Lubbock, Texas. She passed away on February 19, 2025, in the same city, enveloped in love and surrounded by her cherished family.

Madeline was a proud high school graduate who later pursued her dreams and completed her college degree, embodying the spirit of lifelong learning. On April 6, 1972, she married Raymond Harvey, and their union blossomed into a beautiful family until his passing in 2016. Her greatest joy came from their son, Matthew, who was the light of her life.

As a member of the Omaha Tribe in Macy, Nebraska, Madeline embraced her heritage with pride. She had a special talent for crafts, enjoyed playing bingo, and found delight in piecing together puzzles. Her love for her dogs was evident, and she cherished every moment spent with her family. The days spent with them brought her the greatest happiness. She adored her daughter-in-law Crystal’s cooking—often declaring her rice to be the best! Madeline shared a special bond with her granddaughter Kendra, and together they loved exploring town, whether it was grabbing a meal or simply taking a drive. Visits from her baby sister Patty were always anticipated moments, and their relationship was one that brought her much joy and warmth.

Madeline was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Denise Sanchez, and her brother Charles Fremont. Her memory will be lovingly upheld by her son Matthew and his wife Crystal, alongside their beautiful children, Kendra, Sean, Kandice, and Kailei. She is also survived by her sisters Patricia Miramontes and her husband Victor, Mary Rautis and her husband Paxton, and Norma Fremont; her brother Rex Fremont and his wife Mary; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish her spirit and legacy.

The family invites you to join them in celebrating Madeline's life during a visitation on Monday, February 24, at 12 PM at Skyline Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 1 PM, with a burial at Idalou Cemetery to honor her memory.
