Margot (Hollenberger) Tidwell Bruns was welcomed by Willi Schutz and Else Hollenberger in Nurenburg, Germany January 1st, 1930. She was a strong woman who was known to have lived through some remarkable times in history, surviving the prohibition era, World War 2, the holocaust and even the boom of technology. Her first 19 years of life were lived in Germany where she proudly boasted her personality through fashion, especially jewelry. She was known for her unique handwriting and way of speaking, having been in the United States for so long her German accent was still very thick.
Before coming to the United States, she had to learn English, she did so by reading the ‘funny papers’ in the newspaper. She picked up English through her love of humor and comedy. She attended South Plains College to pursue nursing following graduating high school in Germany. She had a knack for bringing plants to life, creating beautiful arrangements seamlessly. Her passion and green thumb led her to become a talented florist, her passion was testament to the amount of time spent working in her yard when she wasn’t inside collecting nutcrackers or elephants.
Those left to cherish her memory will never forget the fierce, tenacious and humble soul that she is. She left a lasting impression on everyone who was blessed to meet her. Despite all the hardships that helped shape and mold the courageous woman she was full of life until the very end. Margot peacefully passed away October 19th, 2024, joining the late Dane Tidwell, but leaving behind many that loved and cherished her. Margot is survived by Son, Billy Tidwell and wife Dianne Tidwell; Daughter, Tabitha Fields and partner Cris Gonzalez; Nephew, George Woodward and wife Becky Woodward; Great-grandchildren, Cameron, Justin, and Ian.
The family will have private services at a later date.
