Martha Jo Boren

Martha Jo Boren, 88, of Jayton went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 3, 2014. She was born July 1, 1925 in Lockney to H.A. and Beauna (Shelton) Brotherton. She graduated from Floydada High School in 1942. She married John Alva Boren on July 4, 1942.She was a loving housewife and then later in life retired in 1985 as a cafeteria worker. She was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church; Martha Jo loved spending time with her family playing games.

She is survived by her son, Gary Boren and wife, Kathy of Mt. Vernon; Daughters, Honey Fuller and husband, Charlie Arthur of Jayton, and Jo Ann Smith and husband, Barry of Lubbock; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 6 brothers; 2 sisters; 3 grandsons.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2014 at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Idalou. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at First Methodist Church in Petersburg with interment to follow at Petersburg Cemetery.
