Mary Knotts

Mary Evelyn Knotts (Garrett), 85, of Temple passed away March 20, 2023. She was born August 12, 1937 in Readhimer, Louisiana, to William Garrett and Loudale Barnhart. She married James Knotts October 19, 1952, in Hodge, Louisiana.

Mary worked for Lubbock ISD as an aid for the special education program for many years. She enjoyed to sew and quilt in her free time and travel when she could. She also enjoyed working with her churches vacation bible school.

She is survived by her sons Mike Knotts and Janice of Lubbock; Randy Knotts and Lisa of McKinney; daughter Suzette Blacklock and Larry of Temple; brother Johnnie Clifton Garrett of California; grandchildren Michael, Tucker, Kelley, Cody, Tiffany, Rhonda, Wesley, Roger, and Casandra; and 9 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by both parents, husband James Knotts, son Terry Knotts, and sister Betty Sue Hurdle.

A visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday March 24, 2023, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel in Tahoka, Tx, with a celebration of life service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Nevels Memorial Cemetery in Tahoka.
