Mary Lackey

Mary Alice Moore Lackey of Lubbock passed away on December 11, 2024 at the age of 91. She was born in Brownfield, Texas to Loyd and Alice (Buell) Moore. 

Mary graduated from Brownfield High School and went on to graduate from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught elementary school in Clovis NM, Sweetwater TX and Salado TX before retiring. Mary enjoyed working in her garden, antique shopping, caring for her pets and decorating for holidays. But most of all, she was a devoted, caring, great Mom.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, David Lackey (Russell Prince) of Houston, Alan Lackey (Carolyn) of Lubbock, Laine Miller (Brian) Midland, Stacy Keller (Jeff) Dallas, and her grandchildren, Jonathan, Bryce and Reed Lackey, Kaitlin and Braden Miller, and Allison and Millicent Keller.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Billie Moore, Erwin Moore, L.G. Moore and Linda Moore Hawkins.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Carillon’s Belle Court for the excellent and loving care given to Mary with special thanks to Sam and Amy.
