Melda Jo Ramsey Jacobs

Melda Jo Ramsey Jacobs, 72, of Lubbock was born September 17, 1940 to the late Sherwood and Imelda Ramsey of Petersburg.  She graduated from Petersburg High School in 1959 and attended West Texas State College in Canyon.  She married John Oliver Jacobs on September 18, 1960.  Melda made this world a better place with her warm smile and laughter.  She will be missed, but she is brightening heaven on this day.

Melda is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Melanie Johnna Songer and husband Greg of Lubbock; son, Clay Jacobs and wife Danni of Abilene; granddaughter, Rachel Jacobs of Abilene; sister, Sherry Dietrich and husband Ken of Lubbock; brother, Don Ray Ramsey and wife Cathy of Petersburg; and four grand dogs.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Powerhouse Church, 7111 Santa Fe Drive in Lubbock.  Interment will follow at Petersburg Cemetery in Petersburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Powerhouse Church, or your favorite charity.
