Michael Mcpherson

Michael Kelly McPherson passed away peacefully on March 4, 2022. Mike was born in Huntsville, Texas on January 21, 1971 and was raised in Pearland, Texas - Dhahran, Saudia Arabia and Odessa, Texas.

He worked in corporate sales - primarily telecommunications - in South Texas, the Permian Basin and in Lubbock for over 20 years.

Mike married Ashley Hollabaugh on June 21, 2003. Together they raised two sons - Britton and Guias.

Mike was committed to God, his family and his community. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and volunteered in the FUMC Second Helpings Ministry. He and Ashley were avid supporters of Lubbock Youth Baseball and the Lubbock Cooper Baseball Program. A family cabin in the mountains of New Mexico was a favorite retreat. Mike was a naturally and "effortlessly fun" person. He enjoyed affectionately needling friends and family and receiving their needling in return. He made an enduring difference in the lives of many.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Gerry Ellis McPherson and is survived by his wife Ashley and his two sons Britton and Guias of Lubbock. He is also survived by his mother Evelyn McPherson and grandmother Rosa Starnes, both of Lubbock and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 1-8pm with family receiving friends from 5-7pm at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Celebration of Life service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 2pm.
