Myrna Noemi Martinez-Munoz, 62, of Lubbock passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022. She was born on April 8, 1960, in El Salvador and raised by her father Jose Manuel Munoz and mother Susana Munoz. While in El Salvador, Myrna worked for many years as a nurse in El Hospital Rosales. In 1986 she met Rosendo Hernandez and then in 1997 they got married in Los Angeles, California. Myrna was a member of San Mathias in Los Angeles, California, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church while in Lubbock, Texas.
She was very outgoing and lit up every room she entered. Myrna loved to sing- especially karaoke music, she loved to talk to old and new friends, she loved all sorts of animals including her bird and grand-dogs, and she was an amazing cook. In her free time, she was an advocate for individuals with special needs; Myrna loved to serve them by raising money for their programs. Most importantly, she loved to be surrounded by her loving family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of over 25 years, Rosendo Hernandez; children, Susy (Luis) Ramirez, Jose Manuel Martinez, Coral (Christopher) Stalter, and Rosendo Martinez Jr.; grandchildren, Louis Anthony Ramirez, Lauren Amber Ramirez, Manuel Joseph Martinez, Hailey Denae Ramirez, Iris Nicole Martinez, and Thomas “Thomasito” Bryant Martinez; parents, Jose Manuel Munoz and Susana Munoz; siblings, Omar Munoz, Zulma Munoz, Nelson Munoz, and Jenny Martinez; her bird, Panchito and her grand-dogs Griffey and Blackie.
She is preceded in death by her godmother, Elisa Mejia; sister, Ivania Munoz; brother, Luis Munoz; uncle, Heriberto Munoz; and aunts Virginia Melendez-Munoz and Gloria Munoz.
Visitation for Myrna will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., with rosary starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel. A mass of Christian burial will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2022, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church.
