Myrtle Chenoweth of Lubbock passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the age of 91. She was born May 13, 1922 in Brady, Texas to William Alvin and Wilhelmina (Self) Plunkett. Myrtle married Joseph Wilburn Chenoweth on August 27, 1947. She worked as a sales associate for many years and was a long-time Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church in Lubbock.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons, J. W. Chenoweth and Alvin Chenoweth, both of Lubbock, and Paul Chenoweth and wife Shannon of Amarillo; sister, Leila Speck of Canyon Lake, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one grandson, David Chenoweth.
Visitation will be 9:00-10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 10, 2014 at Combest Family Funeral Homes. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
