Nancy Diane Browning

Nancy Diane Browning of Lubbock passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 7, 2013 at the age of 51.  She was born March 1, 1962 in Brownfield to Bill and Tillie (Carouth) Lacy.  Nancy graduated from Brownfield High School in 1980 and married Mitch Browning in 1983.  She worked more than 20 years at Children's World Day Care, serving as the director for a number of years.  Nancy not only cared for children, but she found great love and compassion working at Daybreak caring for adults. 

As she and Mitch raised three boys, they would often be found at the baseball park.  She enjoyed watching her children play, cheering on the team, and keeping the books.  Nancy was a member of Quaker Avenue Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Mitch, and children, Erik, Chris and Shane Browning; father, Bill Lacy of Brownfield; in-laws, Raymon and Doris Stotts of Tahoka and Ronnie and Donna Browning of Lubbock; brother, Kevin Lacy and wife Mercedes; four sisters, Lisa Rivas and husband Jesse, Portia Kirby and husband Gary, Susan Lacy, and Beverly Gonzales and husband Tony; and her dear friend she loved as daughter, Sarah Tyson of Lubbock.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens.
