Nicole Schuknecht

Andrea Nicole Schuknecht of Lubbock passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the age of 40. She was born February 2, 1984, in Lubbock to Andy and Debbie Holt. From an early age, Nicole was a fierce competitor. She excelled in soccer and volleyball, playing on various AAU teams over the years.  As a teenager Nicole became a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She rarely missed a game on TV and was thrilled to attend her first game against the Denver Broncos in 2018 and again when they played the Houston Texans in 2023. After graduation, Nicole obtained her Certified Medical Assistant degree. On August 28, 2018 she married her long-time soulmate, Chris Schuknecht.  In 2019, she joined Combest Family Funeral Homes and found her passion for serving people.

Nicole was a dog lover.  She often found comfort in her dogs, White Boy and Fat Boy, and over the last several years she has been a dog mom to Harley and Halo.   Nicole had an infectious smile, servant heart and an adventurous spirit.  She rarely passed up the opportunity to ride a roller coaster or tackle heights.  One of the many things she will be remembered for was being a prayer warrior.  She was faithful to pray with others and help them in their time of need.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Chris Schuknecht and their children who she adored beyond measure, Hunter Barnhill and Paizley Schuknecht; parents, Debbie Holt and Andy Holt and wife Lisa, all of Lubbock; sister, Tonya Combest and husband Kevin of Lubbock; in-laws, David Schuknecht and wife Dayna of Lubbock and Debbie Schuknecht and Bernal Baca of Tacoma, Washington. Nicole also leaves behind extended family and friends who loved her dearly. 

The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 pm Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Combest Family Funeral Homes' Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway. Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 10, 2025, at The Worship Center-West Campus, 7116 82nd Street, with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
