Ona M. Pawley

Ona Pawley of Lubbock passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the age of 94.  She was born February 3, 1920 in Brownfield, Texas to J. F. and Iva Lee (Harris) Malcolm.  She attended Texas Tech College before joining the U.S. Navy in November 15, 1943. She moved from Burleson to Lubbock in August 2011 and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Velda Wilson, Iola Hopkins and Frances Pirtle all of Lubbock; ten nieces and nephews.

Ona was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Luther and Graydan Malcolm; and two sisters, Golda Blackstock and Opal Jones.

Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 with services at 10:00 a.m. at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
