Pat Hames, a beloved member of the community passed away on February 5, 2024, in Lubbock, TX. She was born on August 24, 1930 in Vernon, TX.
Pat was a respected and dedicated secretary at the Church of Christ in Hobbs. She served the church faithfully for many years, always with a warm smile and a kind word for those she encountered.
Outside of her career, Pat had a passion for singing. Her beautiful voice filled the hearts of those who had the privilege of hearing her perform. Whether it was hymns at church or songs around family gatherings, Pat always sang Happy Birthday to everyone on their special day and we will miss that special greeting.
Pat is survived by her loving daughter Kathie Hamilton and son-in-law J.D. Hamilton. She was a proud grandmother to Garrett Barclay, Whitney Lewis, J.W. Hames, and Matt Loeffler (Michelle). Pat also leaves behind daughter-in-law Joyce Hames and great-grandchildren Carson Loeffler, Bella Loeffler, and Sidney Lewis.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents Homer Cross and Tressie Cross and her beloved husband Wilbern M. Hames. She also mourned the loss of her son Randy Hames. They were dearly loved by Pat and their memory will forever remain etched in her heart.
Pat Hames will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who deeply cherished her family. Her unwavering faith, bright spirit, and melodious voice brought comfort to many throughout her lifetime.
In honoring Pat's life, let us celebrate the love she shared with others and cherish the memories she has left behind. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
