Patti Nettles

Patti Nettles, 67, of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022 in Lubbock.

Patti was born on January 20, 1955 in Lubbock to Harold Luther Nettles and Diana Mae Darden Nettles.  She was raised in New Home, where she involved in girl scouts, 4-H and raising pigs, FHA and cooking and sewing, and working on the farm.  She graduated from New Home High School in 1973 and attended Angelo State University in San Angelo.  She had worked as a nursing assistant in Andrews and Lubbock.  She had worked for Plains Cotton Cooperative Association (PCCA) in the IT Department in Lubbock, Citizens-Shallowater Co-op Gin as a bookkeeper in Shallowater and Lorenzo, and as a jailer and in administration for the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office for 15 years.  She also was the caretaker for her mother until her death.

Patti loved horses and was an avid rider.  She enjoyed sitting on the horses and reading a good book.  She enjoyed going to the mountains in Colorado and New Mexico and trout fishing, especially with her parents and family.  She liked watching western movies with John Wayne and movies with Doris Day.  She was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock.

Patti is survived by her 2 brothers, Barry Nettles and wife, Sherrey, of Lindsay, OK and Alan Nettles and wife, Sharee, of New Home, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.  A special thanks to Sandra Pendergrass, cousin, and Bertha Nettles, aunt, for their loving care of Patti.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 1 – 4 PM on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Combest Family Funeral Homes, 2210 Broadway, in Lubbock.  Celebration of life services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway, in Lubbock.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock.
