Pedro Gaitan

Pedro C. Gaitan passed from this life on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the age of 87. Pedro was born on May 13, 1934 in Charlotte, Texas to Gregorio and Leonides Gaitan. He married his beloved wife, Audelia Martinez on April 22, 1955 in Charlotte, Texas and they later moved to Lubbock in 1960. Pedro was a kind and humble man. He was treasured by many for his generosity and warm heart. He was an incredibly giving man and was beloved by all who knew him. He was an accomplished plumber for 60 years and had his own company, Pete's Plumbing.

Pedro was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Audelia Gaitan; two sons, Pedro Jesus Gaitan and Edward Gaitan; two granddaughters, Valerie Garcia and Angelica Arcos; his parents, Gregorio and Leonides Gaitan; six brothers, Lupe Gaitan, Robert Gaitan, Cipriano Gaitan, Jose Gaitan, Frank Gaitan and Pablo Gaitan; 4 sisters, Maria G. Vasquez, Leonor G. Martinez, Jesusa G. Luna and Rosa G. Hall.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter Viola Arcos and her husband, Robert of Lubbock; one son, Harvey and his wife Nora of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 6 from 1-8pm at the Venue on Broadway with Rosary being recited at 6pm. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 10am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lubbock with Rev. Dr. Joseph Thanavelil as celebrant. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
