Radisson "Ralph" Smith

Radisson “Ralph” Smith, Sr. of Levelland passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013 at the age of 67.  He was born October 14, 1945 in Glendale, Arizona to Robert and Juanita Smith, Sr.  He began school in Littlefield, and then the family moved to Slaton where he graduated.  Ralph married Sarah Munoz on September 10, 1966 in Slaton.  The couple moved to Levelland in 1978.  He co-owned Custom Welding Service with his son.  Ralph has also been the pastor for Primera Iglesia Bautista in Littlefield for the past 27 years.  He enjoyed golf and riding motorcycles.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Sarah, of Levelland; son, Sonny Smith and wife Oralia of Levelland; five brothers, Robert and wife Ester of Levelland, Troy and wife Alicia of Littlefield, Fred and wife Emma of Lubbock, Jimmy and wife Cindy of Abilene, and Gene and wife Demaris of Katy; sister, Janie Collins and husband John of Rockwell; and two grandchildren, Aaron Smith of Houston and Stephanie Smith of Levelland.

Ralph was preceded in death by his father, Robert, in 1987; mother, Juanita, in 2001; brother, Glenn, in 2003; and daughter, Rebecca Jane Smith, in 1996.

Mr. Smith will be in state from 12:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Lubbock.  A celebration service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 at Second Baptist Church in Levelland.  Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Second Baptist Church in Levelland with interment to follow at City of Levelland Cemetery.
