Rafaela Ramon

Rafaela Ramon of Lubbock passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the age of 89.  She was born December 11, 1923 in Mier Tamaulipas, Mexico.  Rafaela worked 19 years in the food industry at Texas Tech University and was a member of Our Lady of Grace.  She married Jose Ramon who preceded her in death in 2000.

Those left to cherish her memory are six sons, Valentin Gonzales, Baldamar, and Samuel, all of Ft. Worth, Jesus of Lubbock, Cruz of Van Alstyne, and Daniel of Burleson; daughter, Maria Lovato of Lubbock; three brothers, Juan of Corpus Christi, Joel of Wichita Falls, and Ismael of Refugio; sister, Ersilia “Janie” Quilantan of Lubbock; 27 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 1:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Visitation will also be held beginning at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 with rosary starting at 6:00 p.m.  Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at Our Lady of Grace with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens.
