Ramona Louise Harris Bright was gently lifted from this earthly life into the arms of Jesus on August 12, 2023.
Ramona was born in Martin County, Texas on July 20, 1934, to James Olan Harris and Lola Virginia Reynolds Harris. Her parents are awaiting her arrival in heaven along with her grandparents Walter and Paralee Harris. She was also preceded by her brothers Howard Warren Harris and his wife Doris, and Elmer David Harris and his wife Mary and sister-in-law Mary Beth Harris. Jesus has also called home her four oldest children, Sandra Gale Bright Gist, Walter David Bright, James Warren Bright, and Jaretta Virginia Bright Snead and her husband Doyal Clayton Snead as well as her grandson, Jimmy Clayton Snead.
Those left behind here on earth to cherish her memory are brother Truman Dale Harris; daughter, Connie Louise Gray; grandchildren, Michelle Louise Gray, Shayla Lynn Roy, Joshua David Roy and wife Narci, all of whom she helped raise; Amanda Gist, Shanna Gist, Clint Woods, Christina Kasprzyk, and granddaughter-in-law Jessica Snead; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a few cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Ramona spent many years working in retail and grocery stores. She loved her customers! A little more than thirty years ago she owned and operated “Moner Bright’s Home Daycare”. For the last 40 years she has loved being able to care for and help raise countless children. She got much joy and pride in having such an honor!
Ramona was a long-term member of Sunset Church of Christ. From simple attendance to L.T.C. to camps, to the baby nursery, she has loved well and served the Lord faithfully.
The last few months of her life were a testament of what being part of a church family really means. We are so blessed and so grateful. So many people have helped to make this journey a little easier. We also want to thank Hospice of Lubbock for all their kind and loving care.
