Randell Jay Johnson

Randell Jay Johnson, age 63, of Lubbock, Texas went to be with the Lord, April 29, 2014.

He was born in Slaton, Texas on July 23, 1950 to Joyce Limmer and the late C.J. Johnson.   Randell graduated from Slaton High and Texas Tech University and then from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1978 where he received his doctorate degree from Baylor in Periodontics. Randell was married to Tracy Sims Johnson on July 14, 1996.

Dr. Johnson, (called “Dr. J” by his loving patients and staff) specialized in periodontics in Lubbock, starting in 1978.  He specialized in loving his patients and giving them the best care possible.  Randell loved the Lord and loved studying the Word and sharing his Faith with others.  He was an avid golfer, a gourmet cook and an entertaining musician.

He is survived by his wife, Tracy of the home, daughter, Eve Johnson of Las Vegas; and sons Eric and Marc of the home; mother, Joyce Johnson of Plano; sisters, Dr. Linda Salinas (Albert) of Plano and Brenda Ridnour (Thom) of Dallas; mother-in-law, Edith Sims of Plainview; and many loving family members.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  We would like to extend a very heartfelt “thank you” to everyone for all of your love and support during this time.
