Randye (Simpson) McKee, 67, of Lubbock, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday afternoon, September 1, 2022. Randye was born on February 16, 1955, in Corsicana, Navarro County, Texas, to the late Lloyd Gerald Simpson and Emma Dorcas (Ragan) Simpson.
Randye attended the Idalou schools, graduating from Idalou High School in 1973. She worked for GMAC for over 20 years before becoming a loan officer for several years at AgTexas. She retired in July of 2021. She loved her church, Live Oak Community Church, and was very involved. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, but her number one love was her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish and honor her memory include one son, Bode McKee and his wife Gaelan of Gunnison, Colorado; two sisters, Rhonda Pruitt of Lubbock and Suzette Watts and her husband Steve of Houston; her stepmother, Billy Simpson of Idalou; her stepbrother, JoEd Smith and his wife Debbie of Austin; her sister-in-law, Kay Holtzclaw, and husband Don; and her two lovely and adored grandchildren, EllahMae and Wyatt McKee; and a host of nieces and nephews. Randye was preceded in death by her parents.
Celebration of Life Services for Randye will be held at 2 PM on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Live Oak Community Church, 10710 Frankford Avenue, Lubbock, TX 79424. Mark Porter, Associate Pastor of Live Oak Community Church will officiate, and he will be assisted by Ross Higgins. Celebration of Life Services and private inurnment will be under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in her memory be made to the Live Oak Community Church, 10710 Frankford Avenue, Lubbock, TX 79424.
