Raymond was born December 29, 1932 to Homer and Hazel (Ballew) Hancock. He went to be with the Lord on April 27, 2024 at the age of 91.
Raymond was a humble and caring man with a gentle spirit. He had a heart the size of Texas and would give whatever he had to help someone else. He was full of wisdom and shared life lessons with anyone who would listen. He was the very best storyteller!
Raymond was a farmer by trade and he raised show pigs. After retirement he was the manager of the O'Donnell housing authority. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He coached little league baseball and was a member of the O'Donnell school board for many years. Raymond was an all out sports fan with his favorite team being the O'Donnell Screamin' Eagles. But out of all the hats he wore, he loved being Poppa to all of those around him the most.
He is survived by his three sons Bennie (wife Shonda), Monty (wife Gina), Eddie (wife Alecia); his six grandchildren Amber Lee (husband Cody), Blandon Hancock (wife Kelsey), Ashdon Deleon (husband Josh), Trent Hancock (wife Brittany), Tanner Hancock (wife Taylor), and Allison Balague (husband Trevor); His great grandchildren Hazel Lee, Grayson Lee, Hadlee Hancock, Hall Hancock, Beckham Hancock, Blayke Hancock, Slate Balague, Bransen Hancock, Briley Hancock, and Braxtyn Hancock.
Raymond is proceeded in death by his wife of 65 years, Burna Jo Hancock, his parents, and brothers Weldon and Doyle.
