Ricardo Henry Bendeck

Ricardo Henry Bendeck, 91, of Lubbock, was lifted into heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, August 21, 2022.  Mr. Bendeck was born on February 5 ,1931, in Danli, Honduras, to the late Miguel Bendeck and Andronique (Masoride) Bendeck.

He attended Yoro High School in Honduras, where he graduated.  Following graduation, he attended the University of Honduras for two years.

Ricardo met Rosa Bandy, the love of his life, and they were united in marriage on September 11, 1954, in La Lima, Honduras.  They moved to Southern California in 1958.

Ricardo was involved in the grocery store business in Southern California for 30 years.  He loved sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.  He was an evangelist in Orange County California from 1986 to 2010, before he and his wife moved to the Lubbock area to be close to their children.  He loved playing card games, especially 51.  He was a long-time member of the Prime Timers group at Trinity Church.

Those left to cherish and honor his memory include his wife, Rosa; two sons, Gustavo Bendeck and his wife Shirley of Lubbock, Anthony Bendeck and his wife Wendy of Portland, Oregon; two daughters, Sandra Worrel and her late husband, Greg, of Costa Mesa, California, and Annette Bendeck of Lubbock; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  Ricardo was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services for Ricardo will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2022, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Services will be led by the family with the assistance of David Savage from Trinity Church.  Memorial services and cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations, in Ricardo’s memory, be made to Hospice of Lubbock, 3702 21st Street, Lubbock, TX 79410.
