Ricky Moss

Ricky Schweitzer Moss, 70, of Lubbock, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.  Ricky was born on October 8, 1951, in Matador, Motley County, Texas, to Frances (Schweitzer) Moss and the late James P. Moss.

Ricky attended Christ the King Cathedral Catholic School, graduating in 1970.  Following graduation, he attended Texas Tech University from 1970 to 1972.  He was the owner of Ricky Moss Construction in Lubbock since 1982 and retired in 2010.  Ricky’s favorite pastime was playing golf, of which he could not get enough of.  He also enjoyed building and woodworking.  He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lubbock.

Those left to cherish and honor his memory include one son, Johnny Moss and his wife Allison of Heath, Texas; one brother, Randy Moss and his wife Marnell of Lubbock; his mother, Frances Moss of Lubbock and his former wife, Jean Moss of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Max Moss, Mason Moss and Myles Moss, all of Heath, Texas.  Ricky was preceded in death by his father.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Mr. Josh Stephens will be the officiant.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Ricky’s memory be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Lubbock.
