Roberto Guerrero

Roberto Guerrero, 85, of Lubbock, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 2, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  Roberto was born on June 8, 1938, in Karnes City, Karnes County, Texas, to the late Santos Guerrero and Nicolasa (Longoria) Guerrero.

He met Noemi Gonzalez, and they were married on December 16, 1961, in Lubbock.  Noemi preceded him in death on December 20, 2004.  He then married Adelina Gonzales.

Roberto was a true family man at heart, who loved to golf, and take his family on camping trips.  He was known for playing the accordion, his love of music and singing Tejano and Christian music.  He worked as a truck driver and dispatcher for Transit Mix Concrete Company for 38 years, before retiring in 2008.  He was a member of Broadway Church of Christ.

Roberto is survived by his wife, Adelina; three daughters:  Elvia Trevino and her husband Victor of Junction, Sylvia Jennings and her husband Howard of Lubbock and Laura Hernandez of Wolfforth; one brother, Ruben Mendoza and his wife Rosa of Lubbock; four sisters:  Irene Garza of Lubbock, Alicia Lozoya and her husband Thomas of Idalou, Gloria Hernandez and her husband Baldemar of Lubbock and Elvia Robledo of Lubbock; seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; one brother, Lloyd Guerrero and one sister, Helen Gonzales.

Visitation for Roberto will be from 5 PM to 7 PM on Monday, October 9, 2023, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Graveside services, with Solomon Gutierrez officiating, will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes.

Pallbearers will be Howard Jennings, Noey Lee Hernandez, Elijah Lovato, Arthur Cardona, Jimmy Narvaiz and Solomon Gutierrez.
