Ronnie "Ronald" Howell

Lubbock

Ronald Wayne Howell, 79, of Lubbock, passed away October 11, 2022.  Ronnie was born in Bowie, TX on June 26, 1943 to Wayne D. and Wyneth (McDaniel) Howell.  Over the next few years, the family moved to Brownfield then Lubbock.  He attended Roosevelt High School before enlisting in the Army.  Upon his return home, he began a 36 year career with Lubbock Power & Light. “Retiring” wasn’t an option and went on to work in Facilities & Operations for American State Bank.  He was a member of American Legion Post #575 and was privileged to serve as Commander.  He was involved with Woodmen of the World Lodge #875 and held the role of President numerous times over a 40 year time period.  Ronnie loved hunting, guns, his ’66 Mustang GT, classic country music, Wild Turkey 101, dancing and deep sea fishing!  He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Judy Sharbono and brother Jerry Ralph Howell.  Survivors include a son, Roy Howell (Tanya) of Petersburg, a daughter, Crystal H. Edwards (Chris) of Lubbock, mother of his children, Sharron Morgan Howell of Lubbock, grandson, Garrett Howell of Ft. Bragg, NC, granddaughters, Shelby Howell, Anne Edwards & Ella Edwards of Lubbock and sister, Patt Barefield Watson of Ingleside-on-the-Bay.
