Rosa Barboza Palacios, 64, of Lubbock and formerly of Crosbyton, was called home into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on Tuesday afternoon, March 22, 2022. Rosa was born on November 17, 1957, in Lubbock, to the late Anastacio Barboza and Olivia (Ojeda) Barboza.
Rosa was married to Juan C. Palacios, Sr., in Crosbyton, Texas. Mr. Palacios preceded her in death on November 10, 2019.
Rosa was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, Godmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was very family oriented, loved journaling and being the planner of all events. Rosa enjoyed every minute of her time spent with her loved ones and friends. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. Rosa was a hard worker, all her life, working as a cafeteria lady for the Roosevelt ISD and caring for and raising her grandkids.
Family members left to cherish and honor her memory include her sons, Adam (Martha) Aguirre, Jr., Alex (Linda) Aguirre, both of Lubbock; one daughter, Ophelia (Ramon III) Trevino of Abernathy; eight brothers, Manuel Barboza, Alfredo Barboza, both of Crosbyton, Benny Barboza, Andrew Barboza, Tony Barboza, Ricky Barboza, Johnny Barboza, all of Lubbock, and Manuel Barboza of California; three sisters, Eva Sifuentes of Ralls, Martha Rodriguez of Abernathy and Olga Flores of Crosbyton; 11 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. I love you all very much!!! Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Tony and Jimmy Barboza, nephew Joe Sifuentes and a niece, Michelle Reece.
Rosa wanted to say a special thanks to her dear friends Lucia Garza, Lydia Moreno, Martha Pena and her candy man from dialysis, Harold Foley.
A time of visitation for Rosa will be Sunday, March 27, 2022, from 2 PM to 8 PM. Mr. Fabian Davila will speak and reflect on Rosa's life at 5 PM that evening, with Recitation of the Rosary at 6 PM, led by Olga Rodriguez and Marylou Sifuentes. Mass will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 28, 2022, at San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton, 115 West Fir, Crosbyton, TX 79322. Father Jeganathan Arulsamy, Priest of San Jose Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant.
Pallbearers will be Nevin Pena, Nathan Pena, Noah Pena, Joshua Cuevas, Lance Ponciano and Joe Meza.
Funeral services and cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
