Ruben Rios

Ruben Rios (54) passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at UMC Health System surrounded by his family. He was born on February 19, 1967 to Cruz and Josefa Rios where he was one of 8 children. He was a Machine Shop Saw Operator and worked for DeRan Gear Inc. for numerous years. Ruben was a big Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching country/western movies. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved playing pool. He will be remembered for making people laugh.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cruz and Josefa Rios, sister, Rebecca Rios, and grandson Caysen Quevedo.

He is survived by his son, Ruben Rios, Jr., stepdaughter, Soledad Mermella, and stepson Ramiro Quevedo, III (Angelica); brothers, Richard Rios (Rita), Rudy Rios (Carol), and Carlos Rios (Nancy); Sisters, Rachel Moreno, Rita Rios, all of Lubbock, and Rosa Gallegos (Raul) of Orlando, Florida; and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at The Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway, Lubbock, TX, 79401.

A celebration of life will be held on, Monday, December 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pathway of the Cross Church, 3115 Cornell Street, Lubbock, TX 79415 with Pastor Larry Hernandez. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
