Ruby Joann Campbell, 85, passed away on October 20, 2023, in Lubbock, TX. Ruby was born on January 18, 1938, in Black Springs, AR, to Merrill and Gussie Hudgens.
Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a kind heart and a gentle spirit that touched the lives of everyone around her. Ruby was a pillar of strength for her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Ruby had a passion for arts and crafts. She enjoyed crocheting intricate patterns, knitting cozy blankets, and painting beautiful landscapes. Her dedication to her hobbies showed in every piece she created. Ruby's artistic talents were admired by many.
One of Ruby's greatest joys in life was spending time in the mountains with her husband George at their cabin in Eagles Nest, NM. They cherished the peacefulness of nature and created countless beautiful memories together. Although George has passed on before Ruby, their love story continues to inspire those around them.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents Merrill and Gussie Hudgens, her beloved husband George Campbell, her daughter Paula Ramay, and son Randy Campbell. Their spirits will forever live on in the hearts of those they left behind.
Ruby is survived by her son, Royce Campbell; and daughter Kim Rodriguez; her grandchildren, Daniel, Brad, and Shannon; along with several great-grandchildren who all brought joy to her life.
A visitation will be held on October 23rd from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Combest Family Funeral Homes in the Oak Crest Suite located at 2210 Broadway in Lubbock, TX. This will be an opportunity for family and friends to come together to honor Ruby's life and share fond memories.
