Ruby Darlis Dee

Ruby Darliss Dee of Lubbock passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014 at the age of 80.  She was born November 5, 1933 in Lindale, Texas to John William and Ora Alice (Collum) McDaniel.  Ruby worked as a supervisor for Southwestern Bell in El Paso for more than 30 years before retiring.  She married Michael Duane Dee on January 5, 1956 in Mexico.  The couple moved to Lubbock in 2004.  Ruby was a member of the Eastern Star and of the Protestant faith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of more than 58 years, Michael; two daughters, Jaynie Ruth Dee of Lubbock and Melonee Susan Dee of Austin; and brother, George Clint McDaniel of Grand Prairie. Ruby had three grandchildren, Casey Taggart (Kristi), Cody Taggart (Taylor Loflin), and Kendall Taggart, Jr.and three great-grandchildren, Caden, Drayven and Kamdyn Taggart.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.

Visitation will be 1:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
