Rudy G. Garcia of Lubbock passed away at home on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the age of 56. Rudy was born January 4, 1957 in Lubbock to Baldomero and Amelia Garcia. He worked in the construction industry. Rudy enjoyed fishing and cooking; as well as playing practical jokes on others. He had a big heart and willing to give to others. Rudy was known for his “signature move”.

Those left to cherish his memory are one daughter, Liza Garcia; four sons, Rafael, Michael, Joey and Jaime Garcia; 3 brothers, Raul, Robert and Jessie Garcia; five sisters, Aida Torres, Victoria Hinojosa, Sylvia Luna, Lucinda Flores, and Melissa Brito; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Rudy was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Baldomero Garcia, Jr.; and two sisters, Berta Mojica and Millie Garcia.

Visitation will be 1:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Mr. Garcia will be in state at Community Baptist Church, 220 N MLK Blvd in Lubbock beginning at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013. Celebration of Life Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Rafael Garcia, Sr., Rafael Garcia, Jr., Jaime Garcia, Ernest Torres, Leroy Galan, Chavelo Adame, Ray Garcia and Gabriel Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathon Lucero, Jr. and Jonas Isaias Garcia
