Ruth Irene (Euresti) Baldovino, 92, went “to meet her Lord” December 14, 2024, in Lubbock TX. She was born February 21, 1932, to Magdaleno and Ella (Gonzales) Euresti, in Thrall, TX. Ruth attended school in nearby Taylor, TX. Ruth married Anastacio Baldovino in October of 1969; to this union, they were blessed with one son, Anastacio Nephtali.
Ruth had an eye for style and a talent for putting together floral arrangements. She turned that combination into a business; she owned and operated Baldovino’s Floral in Houston, TX and later in Lubbock, where she retired.
Life was an adventure for Ruth, sparking a love for travel. In fact, for several years she lived on the other side of the world, in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, with her husband and their son. Ruth loved to cook for and entertain her friends and family. If you were fortunate enough to attend one of her gatherings, you were going to laugh until you cried. Her niece, Dorinda Ortega said it best, “She was the funny one.”
The 7 Euresti sisters would lovingly be called “Las Muchachas” by their older brother Sam. The name would stick and come to describe a group of sisters with a great sense of style, dress, and elegance; Ruth was the epitome of that look. “That look” was, and is, always being dressed to the nines; it was a part of who they are. Being fashionable was easy and important to Ruth. She leaves a legacy of charm, grace, and laughter. Most importantly, Ruth loved the Lord, her family, and her friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Anastacio, her parents, Magdaleno and Ella Euresti, a brother, Solomon Euresti, and sisters, Carmen Gonzalez, Eva Vasquez, and Amelia Castro. Those remaining to honor her life, cherish memories, and carry on her legacy are, her son, Anastacio Nephtali of Lubbock, her granddaughter, Katlin Wilcox of Carlsbad, N.M., her brothers, Franklin Euresti of Lubbock, Harry (Janie) Euresti of Rio Vista, CA., her sisters, Dora (Tim) Ybarra of Lubbock, Olga (Armando) Alvarado of Atlanta, GA., Senaida Rios of Lubbock, and many, many, loving nephews and nieces.
