Ruth Jeanette O'Hair

Ruth Jeanette O’Hair of Lubbock, formerly of Earth, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014 at the age of 83.  She was born June 19, 1930 to Henry and Edna (Waggoner) Doughty.  She graduated from Springlake-Earth High School and went on to work as an instructional aide for the Springlake-Earth School District until retiring.  Jeanette married Edwin O’Hair on September 21, 1947.  She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Earth until moving to Lubbock.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Brenda O’Brien and husband Mike of Lubbock; two sons, Dan O’Hair and wife Mary John of Kentucky and Bill O’Hair and wife Gayle of Colorado; sister, Wynelle Angeley of Earth; six grandchildren, Lisa Sylvester, Steve O’Brien, Chris O’Hair, Joel O’Hair, Jonathon O’Hair, and Erica Friis; six great-grandchildren, Dani Hughes, Kinsey Anderson, Carson O’Brien, Addison O’Brien, Logan O’Hair, and Max O’Hair; and anxiously awaiting one great-granddaughter on the way.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin, in 1973; and one sister, Carolyn Loraine Doughty.

The family will receive friends 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Combest Family Funeral Homes.  Beginning Monday, February 17, 2014 visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – noon at First Baptist Church in Earth with services beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Earth Memorial Cemetery.
