Our beloved son and brother, Ryan Austin Weitman of Lubbock was born November 24, 1995 in El Paso and passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the age of 17. Ryan graduated from Reese Education Center and was planning to attend South Plains College to further his education. Ryan was a compassionate young man who valued life, family and friends. He had a diverse music collection and spent hours long-boarding with friends. His favorite animal was the owl because it demonstrated wisdom along life’s journey and symbolized his “quick wit”.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Eugene Weitman and Wendi (Blackmon) Weitman of Wolfforth; brothers, Brandon Weitman of Wolfforth and Jeremy Lyerla of El Paso; grandparents, Gene and Linda Weitman of El Paso, Eugene and Lenda Blackmon of Seminole, and Sandra and Norman Williams of Ennis; great-grandmother, Ruby Hemphill of Lubbock; aunts and uncles, Dusty and D’Ann Blackmon, Ruby Blackmon, David Lucas, Levi and Mikki Blackmon, Sumer Lucas and Ryan Wicks, Everett and Abby Weitman and Eric Weitman; numerous cousins; his beloved girlfriend, Alyssa O’Connor; and many wonderful friends.
Visitation will begin on Monday, November 4, 2013 with the family receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Services will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church central campus.
