Sammy Hightower

Sammy Dale Hightower, 76, of Levelland passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 with complications of heart disease.  He was born March 26, 1936 in Levelland to T. C. and Ardell (Keeler) Hightower.  Sammy worked in construction and was also in real estate.  He married Marlene Sallee on November 23, 1954 in Clayton, New Mexico.  The couple recently celebrated their 58^th wedding anniversary.  He was a member of South Plains Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marlene; three sons, Tarry of Levelland, Karry of Los Angeles, CA, and Sam and wife Judith of Trophy Club, TX; daughter, Debbi Estes of Glencoe, OK; one sister-in-law, Martha Hightower; six grandchildren, Levi Estes and wife Krista, Laramie Estes, Zachary Hightower, Trey Hightower, Olivia Hightower and Audrey Hightower; and three great-grandchildren, Riley, Hadley, and Kenna Estes.

Sammy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Vera Fay Hightower; and brother, Delmer Hightower.

Viewing will be from 12:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Lubbock.  Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2013 at South Plains Church in Levelland with interment to follow at the City of Levelland Cemetery.
