Samuel Vaughn Moore

Samuel Vaughn Moore of Lubbock passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the age of 79.  He was born February 9, 1933 in Shamrock to Raymond and Wilma Jane (Lollar) Moore.  He attended school in Amarillo and enlisted in the U.S. Army.  After honorable discharge, Sam worked as a truck driver.  He married Louise Mott on June 6, 1979 in Tucson, Arizona.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Louise; two step sons, Alan Ritchie and wife Joy and Lance Ritchie, all of Lubbock; step daughter-in-law, Laura Ritchie of Lubbock; and seven grandchildren, Jordan Ritchie, Stefan Thomas, Garrison Ritchie, Haley Ritchie, Garrett Ritchie, Gavin Ritchie, and Ellie Ritchie.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents and one step-son, Shannon Ritchie.

A gathering will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 230 Genoa Avenue in Lubbock.
