Samuel Charles “Sam” Smith of Lubbock passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the age of 84. He was born August 15, 1930 in Corsicana, Texas to Jack and Pansy Smith. Sam received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from North Texas State University. He worked as a district manager for Travelers Insurance until retiring in 1985. Sam was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served during the Korean War.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kathleen Campbell and husband Kerry of Lubbock; son, Jack Smith of Levelland; sister-in-law, Betty Jane Smith; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Jo Smith; and brother, Jack William Smith.
Services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2014 at Second Baptist Church with interment at 3:30 p.m. at Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood.
