Santos Janie Cruz

Santos Janie Cruz of Lubbock passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the age of 77.  She was born on November 27, 1935 in La Pryor, Texas to Marcelo and Camilla (Augalo) Casias.  Santos married Gavino Cruz and they were members at Ministerio Nueva Vida.

Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Davis (Dalia) Ponciano and James Ponciano, all of Lubbock; four daughters, Juanita (Joe) Vasquez, Maggie (Daniel Martinez) Sauceda, JoAnn Ramirez, and Jessica Pena, all of Lubbock; two brothers, Lorenzo Casias of Dallas and Alfonso Casias of Hale Center; two sisters, Frances Mojica of Cotton Center and Mary Trevino of Hale Center; 22 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Santos was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Guadalupe Ponciano; one sister, Benita Alcantar; and three brothers, Martin, Marcelino and Jose Casias.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.
