Sharron Lashaway, 78, of Lubbock, went peacefully to join her Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, March 19, 2025. Sharron was born on July 29, 1946, to the late Olus Leffie Culpepper and Martha Frances Mae (Lawson) Culpepper, in Lubbock, Texas.
She attended Idalou High School and graduated with the senior class of 1964. Furthering her education, she attended Texas Tech University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Education, Biology and History in 1968. She taught for a brief time at Seminole High School after graduation.
Sharron met the love of her life, Ray Lashaway, and they were united in marriage on June 27, 1969, in Idalou, Texas.
She was a homemaker who loved to bake, hiking for nature and exploration, and was a loving mother, grandmommy and great-grandmother. She was a member of Church on the Rock – South Campus, for over 20 years.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her husband, Ray of Lubbock; their children: Jeff Lashaway and wife Diana of Lubbock, Jay Lashaway and wife Rebecca of Seminole, Joel Lashaway and wife Kara of Meridian, Idaho and Christy Butler and husband Steven of Muleshoe; one brother: Eugene Culpepper and wife Paula of Lubbock. She is also survived by her blessed 13 grandchildren: Jordan, Joshua, Katy Beth, Lily, Ben, Sam, Cassie, Carlee, Chloe, Brenna, Brayton, Cannon and Elizabeth and 4 great-grandchildren: Sloan, Saylor, Ollie and Elsie. Sharron was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Lashaway.
A time of reflection and visitation will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, March 27, 2025, in the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway, next to Combest Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, March 28, 2025, in the Venue on Broadway. Her brother, Pastor Eugene Culpepper, along with her children, will lead this service. Final rites and interment will be held in the Idalou Cemetery, in Idalou, under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Lashaway, Joshua Lashaway, Ben Lashaway, Sam Lashaway, Brayton Butler, Cannon Shamburger, Cameron Maxwell and Ryan Donet.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider donating to Meals on Wheels in Lubbock, or to the Lubbock Dream Center, in Sharron’s memory.
